Vintage Gallery Wall

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! last week on Instagram, I had shared this little bit of artwork that I wanted to use in a gallery wall in my bedroom.

In all reality, it would probably have been best to collect more pieces before I began, but I felt inspired to hang them and, since I'm using vintage, it may take me a while to source art.

The first thing I did was to remove the frame from this large piece of art. Initially, I was thinking it was the green wash on it that I disliked, but as I sat and thought about it, the real reason became more clear.

I found it ironic that a month ago I had found a frame for the small portrait at Brimfield for $5. I've just always felt that it needed a large, gold frame. Yet, the frame on the large picture just seemed so off for this project.

My home is an eclectic mix of styles and ages. It's that vibe of old | new, vintage | antique that I love so much and have everywhere in my home.

The amateur portrait needed the juxtaposition of the bold, gold, frame, but the professional landscape needed the exact opposite.

I obviously need to find several more pieces of art to fill this wall. That will come in time, but for the moment I am satisfied with progress made.
