Morning everyone! Today is my Porch Sale! So excited. OK. Actually...everything had to be moved into the garage because the weather is not supposed to cooperate, yet again, this afternoon. I spent the better part of yesterday sweeping, moving, cleaning and hanging fabric to make the space look a tad better. I'll be sure to share tons of pictures tomorrow!
One of the items I'll have for sale is the gorgeous, vintage dresser.
I knew that I wanted to use these awesome, awesome milk glass knobs from D. Lawless Hardware. (Thank you so much D. Lawless for sending these over!) Yes, milk glass in the form of hardware. The pictures do not do this hardware justice. Seriously filled with vintage loveliness!
I tried a new (for me) shade of gray on this piece. I wanted something to compliment the hardware, but was neither really dark or really light. I ended up choosing Gull Wing Gray, by Benjamin Moore.
Believe it or not, even though the dresser is massive, the makeover was actually quite simple. I lightly distressed the piece on the edges and around the locks to give it a bit of a worn feel.
Here's a kind of bizarre looking before shot of when the dresser was in my garage. Don't worry those mismatched glass knobs have found another life elsewhere (I'll share soon)!
A couple of more after shots... Hmmmm. It does look pretty nice against our planked wall...
Seriously, though. It's for sale starting today!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

ReplyDeleteSure wish I could be there Angela, hope all goes well with your sale.
ReplyDeleteI have one exactly like this dresser. Would you happen to know anything about it? I was wondering if it was a dresser or if it is a buffet. Also would you happen to know how old it might be? I tried researching it but came up with nothing. Mine was a curb freebie! Lucky me! Yours looks beautiful and makes me want to paint mine. The color is very pretty. Thank you for your help!
