Persimmon Boys Dresser

*I was compensated for this post with supplies, however all content, thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you all ready to feast your eyes on the most amazing shade of orange you've ever seen?

This is a dresser I just finished a couple of days ago and the color is so, so good. I urge you all to find something to paint in this shade and just go for it!

Now, I may have a history with orange that is not the most positive (which makes my love for this color all the more amazing).  When my youngest was little I let him pick the color of his bedroom. And, he chose the most obnoxious, bright orange of all time. And, I went with it to make him happy. We now know more about his vision problems and that he can see colors best that are super bright so that totally explains it. But, we lived with that horrid color for years!

Moving on to this pretty, pretty orange. It's General Finishes Persimmon. And that is the perfect description. It is an orange that is not masculine or feminine and has none of that harshness like some other oranges have.

Now, one thing I need to mention is that since I was using this color on a dark dresser, I need three coats (plus touch ups). This is more than I typically need to use for GF products. I think a primer would have been beneficial, but I didn't want to see the whiteness from it when the dresser was distressed.

I wanted to keep the color as the focal point of this piece so I kept the distressing to a minimum and added in some heavy, square glass knobs.

This dresser was a custom order for a little boy and I think it will the perfect compliment to his room!
