Welcome everyone! I am super excited that you all are here because autumn is my absolute favorite time of year! I love the change in the seasons and the crisp air and colorful leaves.
This year at Number Fifty-Three, I decided to go in a different direction for my fall décor and stick to a color palette of white, black and metallic.
By the way, Figgy wishes you all a very Happy Halloween and a Delightful Autumn. You can imagine how thrilled he was when I told him my decorating plan...
After all, he thinks black and white is the best color combo of all time.
My mantel was kept simple. I used my brass candlestick collection to display an assortment of black candles and white pumpkins.
The black bat garland was a simple craft that took just a few minutes to create. I just found a pattern online, printed it onto cardstock to use as a template and traced it onto heavy black paper. Once I cut out the bats I punched eye holes and strung them together by taping to secure them from behind.
One pumpkin got an extra special dressing with a metallic leaf ornament...
Adjacent to my mantel is one of my favorite pieces of furniture, my vintage hutch that I painted in an antique white. Since it already holds my collection of white pottery it fit my theme perfectly and just needed some black accents.
I made an easy book page wreath and hung it with a wide black ribbon...
...and painted a pumpkin with mat black paint.
My desk got a little holiday spirit too, with another black candle...
...and ceramic skull.
In my living room, I kept my coffee table simple. A large class vase filled with corn (some naturally black, some painted white)...
...a white pumpkin and brass owl...
...and vintage books painted with chalkboard paint completed the monochromatic feel.
Since the brass candlesticks are being used elsewhere, I added a white mum and ceramic owl to the top of my midcentury hutch.
It was seriously unnecessarily difficult to find a white mum in my city...
The last place I want to share with you all is my dining room.
More black candles (this time mixed with white) and brass candlesticks...
White pumpkins and dried flowers from my garden..
These little white pumpkins are fragrant and sparkly!
And, you simply cannot have autumn without glittery golden skulls...
...and a hanging skeleton garland.
I also love using twigs in my fall décor...
