Muted Mustard End Table

I love working on custom orders. It's an amazing feeling to collaborate with a client and to make their vision come to life.

A couple of weeks back, I picked up this end table at a local store. I've done a few before and I always am on the lookout for more. They are so incredibly sturdy, have a ton of storage and take bold colors well.

One color that I don't use very often is a mustard yellow. Bold yellows definitely have their place. In fact, I did a similar table in a very bright shade last year. For this though, my client wanted a muted mustard, and, I actually had the perfect shade right in my supplies.

It's called Wild Mustard Seed by Valspar and it ended up being exactly what we had planned. A toned down yellow that pairs beautifully with blue, which was very important as it is being complimented with a deep blue sofa that the client already owns.

After painting I just lightly distressed the table and sealed it with wax. Then added in this simple domed knob hardware from D. Lawless. I love the chunky feel of it and how the antique gold compliments the mustard paint.
