Handmade, Boho Christmas Tour (Holiday Housewalk)

Hello friends, new and old, and welcome to my handmade, bohemian Christmas home tour!

 An enormous thank you to Jen Rizzo for creating, organizing and asking me to participate in the Holiday Housewalk again this year! It’s always such an honor! If you’d like to start the tour at the very beginning (which I highly recommend because it’s brimming with inspiration), click here.

If you just viewed Courtney from French Country Cottage’s tour  then you know what an absolute treat this Housewalk is! Her Christmas decor is iconic and forever a favorite of mine. 

I always love adding a tree to my mudroom and this year was no exception. It was a gift from Balsam Hill years ago and I gave it an update last Christmas by painting the urn white. This season, I simply put it in one of my favorite baskets and added battery operated lights for a simple, textural, layered feel. 

I wanted to tuck Christmas decor in unexpected spots this year, while still keeping things light and minimal. A Target table top tree sitting in a Marshalls plant stand with some additional battery lights and my old CB2 ram’s head sporting a wreath added to this feel in our stairway and hallway. 

I set the big tree up in the sitting room again this year. I had initially bought a tree skirt, but realized I really love the look of a tree in a basket. It’s so simple and I can use the basket once the season passes. The tree is filled with velvet ribbon tied in a different way than last year and handmade Turkish rug ornaments.  (Tutorial coming soon.)

I love sitting and drinking my coffee or tea in this cozy space and the glow of the lights just enhances that.

(I obviously had to include at least one picture of our beloved, Figgy, who just celebrated his 9th Gotcha Day with us!)

The final spot I’d love to share with you all is my bedroom. Having a tree in my space is my absolute favorite part of Christmas. It’s so magical to fall asleep to the twinkling lights. This year I did a 5.5 ft tree, (again with the battery lights). I left it undecorated; simple and understated is truly what I love the best. 

I also added this beautiful linen duvet (used as a throw) in the most gorgeous green. 

Lastly, I added a garland to the framed Turkish rug I have hanging over my bed (which is another one of my simple, vintage DIYs).
