[Project Notebook] Boys Bedroom Plans

I've mentioned that both of my boys wanted their rooms updated in the new year and they both had very specific requests.

Gennaro, (just turned nine), wanted better lighting (specifically, a lamp like the one in the Pixar logo), a rug, new curtains and better display storage for his figurines.

Antonio, (just turned 11), wanted a lounge/dorm room vibe, better storage, a day bed, modern furniture and lots of chevron.  He has found particular inspiration in this book:


Interesting kids I have!  Anyway, we've made some purchases and have some things on our wish list (i.e., waiting for a sale).

What do you all think?  It's coming together nicely and the changes are already pretty dramatic (starting with finding an awesome day bed for FREE on craigslist last week).

This is what our upstairs looked like on Saturday afternoon. And yes, our stairway is half painted.  Getting the beds set up took precedence over painting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can't wait to share some progress shots of both rooms (maybe next week).

 

 

Oh, and I'm really, really trying to let them make their own choices and actively help on these projects because usually this is me...
