My husband doesn't know this yet, but we are going to build a garden gate this summer! I sort of hinted around at it once, but I completely do not think he took me seriously.
We have this old, ugly rotting fence separating our house from our neighbors and last year my husband started taking it down and I started getting quotes for a fence. Totally did not happen since every quote was way out of our price range.
So, while I'm still figuring out what I want to do in terms of privacy on one side, I do know that a cute, rustic garden gate will go great with our cottagey yard.
These are my top picks, although realistically the one with the window would never work with two crazy boys...

I personally like option number three. I also like the window but agree not with three boys. Good luck and can't wait to see what you do! Take a minute and follow Cloches and Lavender.

Try two windows with chicken wire between or find old twin bed headboard, iron would be really nice....
