Vintage Gossip Bench

Happy Sunday! We're off to another gelato/movie afternoon with the boys today! They completely deserve it because I have been working like crazy this week on both custom pieces and pieces for my sale so they have not had a lot of fun.

This lovely gossip bench is one of the things that I finished this week and I love it! It is custom for a friend of mine who recently moved into an amazing new home. She is not afraid of color or mixing patterns so we have been having a blast coming up with ideas for her entire space.

Once her family room/breakfast nook is complete I will be sure to share an entire tour with you, but for now, I couldn't resist staging and photographing the gossip bench in my own home!

And, you know if I pull the camera out Figgy is right there...

I didn't want to do any prep on this piece....I love all the spindles, but frankly I had no interest at all in sanding them, so I added in a little Webster's Chalk Paint Powder into my paint. Perfect adhesion and coverage!

I just lightly distressed the bench and waxed it and I was done. I'm thrilled with the results! And, see where Figgy's sitting in this picture. I recently did a gossip bench for our master bedroom (I'll share soon) and he sits in the same spot on that bench too.  Sigh.

Check out the before of the bench...boring, right?

 And one final after shot...Love.
