Red Glazed Painted Vintage Bench

I'm totally not ready for you Monday. Don't you despise weeks that start like that? I have so much to do today and just want one more day before I tackle it all.

 

Now that the weather has greatly improved the list of projects that need to be completed have significantly grown (I think my front door area will be getting a little refurbish for one). Also, I have had better luck hunting down furniture. All you furniture painters out there did you seriously struggle this past winter to find furniture like me?

  

One piece I recently found and finished was this fantastic vintage bench.

 



 

 

It was structurally in great condition when I got it, but just needed a new finish.

 

Ever since I painted the Perfect Red Vintage Dresser back in January I have been dying to use General Finishes Holiday Red again. This brand is seriously my favorite paint of all time. I have consistently gotten a perfect smooth finish with it and it has the best consistency (not thick like chalk paint).

After I painted the red I wanted to add a little bit more personality to the piece and distressing wasn't giving a contrast that I was happy with. I ended up using glaze in Pitch Black (also my GF).

 

 

 



 

I'm pretty much thrilled with the finish after using the glaze. I see tons more glazing in my furniture painting future!
