Traditional Secretary Desk

*I was compensated for this post with supplies, however all content, thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hey everyone!

I am so excited to share this project that I just recently finished up with you all.

A few weeks ago, right before Easter, I saw a gorgeous secretary desk listed on Craigslist and I jumped on it. Seriously. I virtually never find furniture on their anymore.

I brought it home, put it in my garage and held off on painting until I could talk to my neighbor. I knew she had been wanting a desk like this forever, so I was definitely giving her first dibs!

When she saw the desk she loved it and we chatted for about 2 seconds on our plan of attack. We both new classic black with minimal distressing would be perfect for the style of the piece and how her home is decorated.

So for the painting...you all know that General Finishes is my favorite brand, by far. But, can you believe that I have never tried their black paint? Weird, right? This desk is my very first piece that I am sharing painted in their Lamp Black!

And, now I totally see what all the fuss was about. This is the perfect black. It is a true, rich black, which, believe it or not, is sometimes really tricky to find. Quite often they have undertones of gray or blue, but not this one! So excited to add Lamp Black to my favorite colors list!

I love the shape of this desk and I'm so thrilled it went to our neighbor. (We seriously have the best neighbors!)
