Wood Slice & Jewelry Bead Garland

I made a really fun project this week for our upstairs makeover that I wanted to share with you all. (I still have a few projects to check off my list, so reveal coming soon...although I have shared a picture of the DIY plaid wall on social media, recently.)

Anyway, the space is crazy narrow with zero room for furniture, so I'm relying on wall treatments and wall décor to give the space some personality.

I started with a stack of branches that we sliced into varying thicknesses (these are available for purchase at craft stores if you don't have a stash at home). I also drilled a hole in the center of each.  I then purchased a few sets of beads (acrylic faceted nuggets and moss agate nuggets in the jewelry making section here and some hemp cord in a neutral color). Bonus: the beads are 60% off this week!

I laid out my pattern to get a feel for how it would look.

Then I carefully strung it all together. One note:
make sure your cording can fit through the holes of the stones you purchase as some are quite narrow.

I want to hang my garland vertically, so I tied a loop at one end and just a knot on the bottom, but you can adjust based on your needs.

I cannot wait to get this hung up. It will give a nice accent of color to a super, super neutral space. Also, the mix of texture between the rustic wood slices and the pretty beads are perfect to me!
