Upcycled Chalkboard & Other Updates

Morning everyone!  The rain luckily held out for my sale yesterday and I would consider it a success! Of course, I would do things a bit different for next time, like tweak the hours of the event and not pick a ridiculously hot and humid time of year, but overall I am really thrilled with it!

One of the items I upcycled and very quickly sold was this chalkboard made from a vintage headboard.

I've been running around like crazy the last week, so I don't really have a tutorial, but here is the before shot...

My neighbor simply cut the lower portion of the headboard off for me. I gave everything a good sanding and painted, distressed and waxed the posts. When that was done I chalkboard painted the headboard and let it cure.

Here it is with the other chalkboards I made...

...and actually at my sale...

As far as all the pictures I promised from the sale. Well, there aren't so many. I never got the chance to take the proper before pictures because customers came, but here are a few so you get the idea of how I set it up.

One last picture. Here a shot of Figgy from this weekend after the bath he got as a result of getting in the adhesion primer. I love his punk rock fur and expression!

Have a great day!
