Chippy Vintage Nightstand

Hey friends! I'm seriously late to posting today thanks to some nasty virus or sinus infection or something. Ever feel fine one moment and then the next you are collapsed in bed unable to function? That was so where I was yesterday and today I have been left with a splitting headache.

Anyway, I had these pictures all edited and ready to share with you all! Isn't this vintage nightstand totally fun?

Upholstered, Antique Bench

Hi friends! I am so excited to share with you all this project I did for an awesome customer of mine recently.

She had this antique bench that had been her mothers and she wanted me to give it a fresh and modern update. The lines and gorgeous carvings and legs were already amazing, but it was in need of new fabric and a couple of minor repairs.

Shabby White Secretary

Happy Sunday (and Father's Day)! I'm hoping for a part relaxing/part getting things accomplished kind of day. The weather is finally nice so it would be great to spend time outdoors, plus, I have several furniture projects that are like 99% done and just need one tiny thing to complete them. I hate having mostly finished things lying around!

Several weeks ago I found this secretary with drawers at Savers. I was super excited since it was a great, solid piece that just needed a little love (and to lose its horrible, shiny finish)!

Don't you love the feet?

Country Cottage Sideboard

Oh my gosh everyone, I can't believe it is already June! The weeks have been flying by.

I had my first little disaster this past week with my furniture painting business.  I had stored all of my waiting to be painted furniture in our garage. Yeah. Not such a great idea with the incredible amount of rain & humidity we are having. So, a few days ago we had to toss out a couple of pieces of furniture and then drag everything else into our dining room, which has now become my storage/work room. Totally not the best or ideal situation, but it's what I'm working with right now.

So, on to this little makeover I did to a sideboard that a customer of mine found at Brimfield.

Custom, Painted Dining Set

Happy Thursday everyone! This week has completely flown by for me! I've gotten four SUV loads of furniture in so far so I have been busy, busy, busy.  Plus, both of my boys are actually healthy this week (there has been one virus after the next in this house) so I am easing them back into our homeschool schedule.

Yesterday was our social studies day and we are learning about the middle ages. Both boys were in the middle of making coats of arms when I saw a curb alert on craigslist for a free table not too far from us.

I yelled for them to stop doing their schoolwork and get in the car (and yes, they were still in their PJ's).  So, we got to the house, I got the table, plus the most amazing Windsor chair, I crammed it all into the car and we started back home.  My 11 year old kept looking back at the furniture to make sure it was in stable and then said to me, "You know what? We do not have a normal family.  Most kids are not told to stop doing schoolwork in the middle of the morning. And, most kids are not out in their pajamas picking up furniture on the side of the road. You get mad because we don't do enough chores, but we always drop what we're doing to go get your furniture. This is pretty awesome!"  Kind of loved this conversation with him.

Anyhoo, a couple of weeks ago I did a custom dining set for a customer who had previously bought some furniture from me.  This was her own set and she picked the colors; a black for the table and a egg blue w/ gray undertones for the chairs.
