Antique Drop Leaf Table

It kind of seems like 2014 is becoming the year of the drop leaf table for me.

Weird, since I've never purchased or refurbished them before.

But, here we are, three months in and this is already the second I have painted (you can see my black vintage drop leaf here). Plus, I have another in storage waiting for a makeover. And, we purchased an antique drop leaf table a few weeks ago for our very own dining room.

Easy Vintage Chair Update {& Thrift Store Shopping}

Can I just say that thrift store shopping has been pretty down right horrendous so far this year? Because it has. Literally, a month and half in and I have only bought three pieces; a desk for a customer, a drop leaf table (I'll share next week) and this chair.

Chippy Vintage Nightstand

Hey friends! I'm seriously late to posting today thanks to some nasty virus or sinus infection or something. Ever feel fine one moment and then the next you are collapsed in bed unable to function? That was so where I was yesterday and today I have been left with a splitting headache.

Anyway, I had these pictures all edited and ready to share with you all! Isn't this vintage nightstand totally fun?

Charcoal Gray and Brass Antique Dresser

Oh how I love the combination of charcoal gray with brass! Don't you just love the classic lines of this dresser and how the darker paint gives it such a modern feel?

Classic, Country Painted Demilune

I'm so happy to share the full reveal of this little demilune table with your all this morning!

It just screams autumn to me! And that's a good thing because it is most definitely fall and most definitely freezing here today!

Rustic, Glam Dresser

Happy Sunday!

I cannot believe it is the start of another week already!

Antonio is finally on the mend from his bout with pneumonia, only to now have our cat, Figaro, sick. I feel like I can't catch a break here, but thankfully we go to a fantastic vet and after an exam, steroid shot and fluid yesterday we were sent home with antibiotics and Figgy seems a little more perked up this morning. Phew!

On Friday, my husband had the day off so I took some time to work on two dressers. One was a custom order and the other one I'm sharing here for you all to see.

Chippy, Beachy, Vintage Chairs

I cannot believe we are at the start of a new week and it is already the end of July! I have a ridiculously busy August so I took this past week to kind of just relax and not work on too many projects.

Remember how a couple of weekends ago we brought our boys to the movies for the first time? Well, we were a little early heading over their and had some time to kill so we hit up a tag sale. Seriously, what else would we do!

Painted, Vintage Coffee & End Table

Hey everyone! If someone finds my motivation let me know! I am seriously being lazy lately and I have so much that should be accomplished.

If you checked out my summer living room tour (here) yesterday than you saw that I changed out our black, vintage, coffee table for something sleeker and lighter and also added in an accompanying end table.

I had found the coffee table a couple of months ago at the thrift store and actually left it there, obsessed about it all afternoon, and then had my husband pick it up on his way home from work. He immediately loved the lines of it, the fact that is had a drawer (perfect for the way to many remotes that we have) and the caster wheels.

Shabby White Secretary

Happy Sunday (and Father's Day)! I'm hoping for a part relaxing/part getting things accomplished kind of day. The weather is finally nice so it would be great to spend time outdoors, plus, I have several furniture projects that are like 99% done and just need one tiny thing to complete them. I hate having mostly finished things lying around!

Several weeks ago I found this secretary with drawers at Savers. I was super excited since it was a great, solid piece that just needed a little love (and to lose its horrible, shiny finish)!

Don't you love the feet?

Painted Retro Vanity

Happy Sunday! I have a crazy, busy day ahead of me. I think I have six or seven customers coming to pick up their furniture. (You can imagine what my entry looks like right now!) But, I was pretty excited to have gotten all the pickups arranged for the same day.

In between all of that chaos I am hoping to, at least start, a couple of other paint projects (I have a cool vintage coffee table and an old dorm room desk on tap). Also, I would like to start to prime the upper kitchen cabinets.

Modern, Classic Desk

Sorry, for the lack of posts! Seriously, I have been a painting maniac this week; making a conscious effort to get all of my custom orders and as much of my own pieces to sell done as possible.  There is only so much I can stand of a messy house and a dining room cram-packed with furniture!

Country Cottage Sideboard

Oh my gosh everyone, I can't believe it is already June! The weeks have been flying by.

I had my first little disaster this past week with my furniture painting business.  I had stored all of my waiting to be painted furniture in our garage. Yeah. Not such a great idea with the incredible amount of rain & humidity we are having. So, a few days ago we had to toss out a couple of pieces of furniture and then drag everything else into our dining room, which has now become my storage/work room. Totally not the best or ideal situation, but it's what I'm working with right now.

So, on to this little makeover I did to a sideboard that a customer of mine found at Brimfield.

Updating Furniture w/ Pottery Barn White

Hi everyone! I'm still continuing on my quest to make a good dent in my custom projects so that I can devote a good chunk of time to my kitchen next week. I cannot wait! My husband, probably like most, isn't super into decorating and all that, (he is always busy at work and has his own interests), so I actually had to tell him the other day that if he wants to see what is going to happen in our kitchen he had better read my blog post!

Vintage Kitchen Cupboard

So, I'm pretty sure that I have one of the slowest kitchen updates on record. Seriously, it was like a year in a half ago that we updated the light, by removing the old (and ugly) stained glass chandelier and replacing it with a drum shade. We also stored away our kitchen table (it wasn't really necessary since our dining room is just steps away) in lieu of a stainless steel kitchen island to have more prep space.

[Project Notebook] Inspired Furniture

I just love painted furniture (obviously)! The possibilities are truly endless when you are reinventing an old piece. One of my favorite things is to do is to add a bit of a bold or unexpected touch to vintage furniture.

Here are some pieces that I find particularly inspiring (and that I would like to try)!

Updated Vintage Desk

This was one of those projects that seemed to drag on forever.  I totally have no idea why, it was just like I would do a step and then put it away for a couple of weeks. Has this ever happened to you?

Cottage Yellow Dresser

Happy Mother's Day!

I have the sweetest and prettiest dresser makeover to share with you all today.

This was a vintage dresser that I found, but custom painted for a customer and I think her idea was just perfect for the piece!

Rustic Table Addition

I have had so much furniture come in over this past week to paint, you literally cannot even walk in my garage. It is kind of insane. Like, I've had to give my husband warnings to not go in there, insane.

So, my Mom has been bugging me to come and get this table from her forever.  She had it on her three season porch and just kind of ran out of room. But, she sort of wanted me to have it rather than sell it, and I totally agreed with her; I just didn't know what to do or where to put it. And I mean permanently put it, because I completely am out of storage here.
