My name is Angela and I’m a New Englander who is forever in love with antique and vintage pieces (with a little splash of modern). In fact, I would say about 90% of my home is thrift|antique|flea market|Facebook Marketplace|tag sale and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s environmentally responsible, budget conscious and adds so much soul and life to a home. (Which is so fitting, as in 2020, my farmhouse will officially be 100 years old.)

A couple of weekends ago we were at a Restore and found this drum table. I was thrilled because it’s been on my list of vintage/antique furniture wants (yes, I have a list) and I have pictured a round table with a large tree like this at the holidays for years. A fresh coat of paint gave it new life and compliments my tree and modern planter perfectly. That gorgeous, ornate chalkboard was a thrift store mirror in its previous life that I painted and repurposed. (As you go along on my tour you will see that painting and repurposing is my favorite thing to do. 😊)
Some wreaths and garlands from Target and Joann’s lend a simple touch in the living room. (I particularly love the garland up against my very favorite thrifted find of all time, this under $15 original painting from Savers.) The desk is a family heirloom and one piece that will always have a place in my home.
The large vintage rug on the ladder was a recent flea market acquisition and was a steal for under $20. I love the bit of holiday color and pattern it adds to the room.
I also added in a fresh floral arrangement that I made with Trader Joe’s flowers and eucalyptus, along with pine from my property. I’m in love with this lighter take on Christmas decor and is especially nice if you tend to decorate early, like I do. The centerpiece of my holiday decor is my new tree. I love how grand it feels in this corner. I decorated it with my entire vintage ornament collection. I’m not much for using color in my decor, but this tree is just magical at night with the lights bouncing off of the fun and colorful ornaments. Again, these were all tag sale and flea market finds and the entire collection was under $20.
My dining room holds some of my favorite pieces. My table is about 240 years old and a Craigslist find from about 6 years ago. I refinished it this past summer and am so thrilled I could get the shiny mahogany off and bring it back to a natural cherry matte finish. (Read the post about this project here.) I styled my table very simply with thrift store antique bowls (under $15 for all four) and a cute Target tree. The chairs at the head of the table were a steal for $14 a pair at the Salvation Army and I couldn’t resist these green velvet HomeGoods pillows; a new addition this year.
If you follow me on Instagram you probably already heard the harrowing story of when we picked up that dresser (you can read about it in my thrifting highlights). I sanded it down to raw wood and left it in its natural state. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces, to date. It’s styled with almost exclusively thrifted finds. The barn sale shield mirror got a few coats of chalkboard paint for more visual impact and the Goodwill bust got a handmade wreath from pine picks I bought at Joann Fabrics. The larger stone mortar & pestle is an antique store find, along with the brass cup.
The mantel is simply decorated again this year with pine garlands and the new addition of this gorgeous World Market ribbon. The thrifted shelf, which I repurposed and painted, has a few Christmas finds tucked in. (See the before and after here.)
Lastly, is the master bedroom. This green, velvet, flea market chair is a perfect nod to the season, along with a very simple wreath made with a Target garland and some cozy throw pillows and a white poinsettia.
The other side of the room has my china hutch-turned-clothing-armoire (you can read about it here), an antique thrifted chair and more of my vintage art collection. I love this table top tree gifted to me years ago sitting in a HomeGoods basket. I added battery operated lights on a timer. There is literally nothing sweeter than going to sleep with the twinkle of a Christmas tree near by.
In the kitchen, I added a large plate wall. I had taken one down elsewhere in my home earlier this year and I just couldn’t resist adding another back in! I found this perfectly sized wreath at Joann’s and many of the plates (along with that interesting basket are HomeGoods finds). The rug folded on the thrifted and refinished benches was gifted to me a couple of years ago and I’m just in love with the bright, neutral texture all these pieces provide.
(The secretary desk is another one of my refinished and repurposed pieces and you can read about it here.) I added in a few of my more neutral bottle brush trees for an extra seasonal touch.
