My Under $10 Emerald Green End Table

Hi everyone! I've been laying low this week and not a lot of projects are getting done (even though I have a list a mile long.) Seriously, I just spent the last hour laying on the couch with the blanket over my head.  I've got zero for energy and raging pain in my ear and eye. (Thanks to a ridiculous bout with shingles almost two years ago I now get these random periods of pain where I had the outbreak.) Yuck.

Anyhoo, luckily I got a really cool project done last week with some gorgeous emerald green (yes I totally had to try it on something) paint and a thrift store end table.

It is a major goal of ours this year to get our classroom/office looking decent and functional and this was my first step.  Do you want to see the finished furniture?  If so, please head over to Pretty Providence where I am guest posting today.

P.S. The entire table was purchased and redone for less than $10!

Thrifty & Sophisticated Upholstered Bulletin Board

I feel seriously frustrated about this post. Not to say that my photography skills are really anything amazing, but I at least feel like my photos pretty accurately get across the true colors and vibe of my projects.
This one...not so much. For whatever bet is on lighting and the color of my fabric, I could not photograph this one right! But, it's such a great and inexpensive project I just had to share.

Cupid's Arrow Valentine Mantel

One of my goals for this weekend was to change up my mantel for Valentine's Day.

I love how the paneling and bricks of our mantel are painted bright white since it gives such a great, neutral backdrop for whatever I want to showcase. Plus, the bricks looked awful before I painted them (about a year ago). Seriously, I have never seen such a weird color (red) and texture (they were almost totally smooth).  Plus, someone had painted the mortar black. Yuck.

Anyway, I decided to not use red in my Valentine d├ęcor this year. Instead, I played with the typical white and black that is the cornerstone to most of my decorating and added in pops of bright fuchsia and orange; I just love that color combo!

[Project Notebook] Boys Bedroom Plans

I've mentioned that both of my boys wanted their rooms updated in the new year and they both had very specific requests.

Gennaro, (just turned nine), wanted better lighting (specifically, a lamp like the one in the Pixar logo), a rug, new curtains and better display storage for his figurines.

Book Page Valentine Garland

One of my favorite things to craft with are books pages. I love the simple black and white color, the texture and how affordable they are. {Just think how many projects you can accomplish with one thrift store book.}

My latest project is this sweet Valentine garland that is so simple to make.

Chalkboard and Twig Antler Art

I've pretty much been obsessed with antlers for a while now.  I mean they are absolutely everywhere and they add such an unexpected and natural touch to a room.

I think I could do regular antlers (they just fall off, right?), but not taxidermy. That is way, way out of my comfort zone.

How about antlers made from twigs? That is right up my alley since I have sticks/twigs or some other bit of nature in every room.

[Project Notebook]

I know I've mentioned before that I absolutely hate my kitchen.

It is seriously oak overload with it's oak flooring, cheap beadboard and cabinets.  A few years ago I painted the beadboard the same bright white as all the trim in our house and it made a huge difference. But really, there is no way around the fact that the cabinets are hideous. Since there is zero money in the budget to replace, I will be painting them. And, I was shocked when my husband, who is way less of a risk taker than I am, also fell in love with the look of bi-color cabinets.

DIY Coffee Table Terrarium

With the cold, cloudy, snowy days we have here in New England in the winter I wanted to add something with life and greenery into my living room.

I (very easily and inexpensively) put together this terrarium for my coffee table.

Pom-Pom and Finger Knit Garland

I have a list a mile long of projects and crafts I want to try (that's a good thing!) and at the top of my crafty list was to learn how to finger knit. In addition, pom-poms are super big right now and I wanted to try my hand at that, too. So, I combined the two into one cozy and fluffy garland for our upstairs library hallway.

Firmoo Sunglasses {Sponsored Review} and an Offer for You!

Hey there! I was so excited when I was recently contacted by Firmoo to review a pair of glasses.  Did you know that Firmoo is the world's most popular online eyeglass store?

As someone who is an avid online shopper the idea of virtually trying on glasses and ordering right from my computer totally intrigued me. And the process was so simple!

I knew from the moment I was asked by Firmoo to participate in this review that I would get sunglasses.  My eyes are super sensitive to light, so sunglasses are a necessity for me.
